Kids in the Kibbutz by Romi Balkan

My favorite experience from today (Shavuot) was talking with the kids from the kibbutz. It was really interesting to see how different and similar their lives were compared to ours. Here, everyone knows each other, and not only that, they are all a big close community. Also, i thought it was interesting that there is such a high level of trust between the neighbors that when someone wants to come into a home, all they have to do is knock and then the people inside just say come in! And then they do! This would never happen in America. It was also interesting to see them talk about the same things as us, like Taylor Swift, or drama at school, etc. Even though there is a war going on, kids are still kids. This experience gave me a whole new appreciation for the kibbutz, and made me want to live in one too!
