A trip to the Ecological Greenhouse at Ein Shemer, with Oded Rahav by Asher Hardis

Yesterday, we visited our old friend Oded Rahav! This time, he was at the Ecological Greenhouse in Ein Shemer, where he volunteers to help with their several missions, including developing sustainable methods of food production, and teaching elementary school students - both Jewish and Arab together - about this through helping them develop research projects. Oded began by giving a speech about his idea of home, and interpreted this question differently than everyone else on the trip so far. He said that the world is his home, and he wants us to treat it as such. After that, we took a tour of the greenhouse. A volunteer there named Shai showed us around, telling us about the different classes that are taught there, the technology they are developing, and their overall goals for the greenhouse. Next, Shai talked to us about why he volunteers at the greenhouse, and why he thinks the work is meaningful. Overall, I thought this experience was great, as I learned a lot about both what they do at the greenhouse, as well as what Oded and Shai think about the idea of home.
