Shabbat in Jerusalem by Naomi Wuliger

We had such a special time during Shabbat today and really bonded with all of the shinshinim and teenshinim. Our group arrived at Kabbalat Shabbat, fresh from the shower after a long day, and ready to welcome Shabbat into our Cohort. We were all smiles as we invited each other to join into song lead by Rabbi Scott! He divulged some personal history regarding “bad romance” which ended in all of us doing the horah! Later, we reflected about our experiences earlier in the day. We had visited Yad Vashem,  the shuk, and a memorable ceremony for the hostages. This ceremony was an opportunity for people to share the realness of the missing hostages, for Israelis to cry, listen to music and personal thoughts.
The day ended with a super fun activity with the teenshinim. We played lots of games that made all of us laugh and bond with one another. The best was the charades game (PJ had to figure out that he got Amnon as his person). We are looking forward to continuing a relaxing and meaningful Shabbat, and are so excited to get closer as a group as we enjoy this time together!
